Covert Spiders

January 14th, 2006

JAN.14 (Wired News) Websites get looked at by two different kinds of visitors: the human ones who peer around, look at the graphics, think about the links and click slowly; and the spiders, those automated scanners that come in from search engines like Google, or, more ominously, from malicious attackers, competing businesses and spammers looking for e-mail addresses.

Interesting article about spiders that operate undercover. Makes me think about sentinels from The Matrix.

Yahoo! Widgets

January 13th, 2006

Those who use Mac OS X Tiger know what widgets are. Little “gadgets” that sit on your desktop and give your all sorts of information. Here are some cool ones by Yahoo!

I personally like these better than the mac ones. The work on windows too.
